Motor Sports Emergency Response Training Course Information
This course is a general orientation to motor sports safety. Students learn about NFPA 610 and some of the safety considerations for themselves and the race competitors. This course does not serve as a NFPA 610 Awareness level training course nor does it carry any form of State Certification.
This course is intended for track side safety personnel and motor sports venue workers. Students will learn about the implications of NFPA 610 on their role at the venue. In addition, students will become familiar with personal safety considerations, preparation for race events, competition vehicle construction, motor sports competitor safety equipment and features, driver removal and fighting motor sports fires. This course is a firefighter certification course for Motor Sports in accordance with the Indiana Firefighter Certification Program managed by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security.

Course Costs Costs for both courses are based upon the number of students in attendance. 10 to 30 students is the desirable range for optimum student/instructor contact. Course costs will include the cost of the student handout materials, and hands on materials such as fuel for hands on fire extinguishment activities. Hosting agency/organization is responsible for providing classroom space for the students, and hands on training location for practical skills exercises. For courses held more than 30 miles from Greenwood Indiana, course cost will include fuel costs for travel to and from the training site and overnight accommodations for the instructional staff.
